Day 7: Jonah then Joseph

I served punishment oh!!!

Today was amazing...well in the end sha.
The day started with Felicity and I going for parade. Yes, I went by 5am to the parade ground. I was so clueless!!! 🀣🀦. Apparently our Muslim brothers and sisters go to pray while Christians pray on the parade ground.
We had praise and worship songs and then the anthems (Nigeria and NYSC). I didn't even know that the second stanza of our nation's anthem is now referred to as "the national prayer". After that we had a talk by a platoon, I think it was on integrity...abeg don't blame me, it wasn't so interesting but the lady did well. It wasn't a long one.
I was really expecting the drills and the singing that comes with it, only for me to hear that we should go. Me that doesn't know how things really go, I was even ready to go back. I hung with my platoon trying to make sure I didn't go astray. Next thing I hear that the ladies in the platoon should wait behind. We waited and then another lady came back and was saying we were to be somewhere. Another lady (I don't know her platoon) was talking about the computer scientists who were asked to come out so they can give them some instruction...I thought both ladies were talking about the same thing🀣
A man came and was shouting about people not being in the hall. See eh, to be clueless is not my portion again! Amen.
Our camp officials told us ladies to stay back so we could have volleyball practice. We went to the court and started practicing. Some ladies wanted to leave sef but they were told they had to be there.
Next thing the same man came to the court, shouted that we all give him our Meal tickets and then hold ourselves by the waist and match down to the hall.
Apparently, platoon 7-10 was released from the parade ground to go and receive a lecture in Jamaica hall!!!!
Our camp officials did nothing about it. I mean, here I was thinking since my oga is here, I'm doing the right thing πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€¦πŸ™†πŸ½‍♀️
Uncle went to the door of the hall, told us to go and sit on the floor in front of the stage, facing everyone while the lecturer was talking.
Oh well, wetin man go do? Na to sit, cross leg, bring out phone and dey begin take note.
Na like that we take end lecture oh. Like 30mins lecture on security was what was left. Small time into our stay, the lecturer even said we are making noise...I was just hoping that will not add to our troubles. I sat write next to his feet...as per, pour me that knowledge!
After that uncle reported us to our fellows in the hall oh. It sounded like salt and pepper was added but it turns out he had sent people to come and call us but for some reason the message didn't get to me...yes, I didn't hear jack! Nor did most of the girls.
I was not happy oh...I won't lie to you.
My platoon sha had to clean and arrange the hall. I'm not among any sweeping so I tried to help with the chairs.
They say platoon 10 has issues...but you know say that one na for their pocket. What they said is for them, not us. Amen?
I'm on the fence about going for camp stuff...it felt like I "Jonah-ed" them.
When out platoon officer came we did small shakara. Honestly I didn't like that he didn't stand up for us. I rest my case.

Throughout the day I rotated between the clinic and my platoon activity. I was really gingered when I heard that our platoon wasn't doing well. We have our dance presentation today and while we practiced I made a suggestion and the guys said I should take the part so I'll be the narrator for our dance presentation.

I'm happy! I haven't done this in a while. I used to act during my secondary school days, a lot!!!! And even in my uni days sef.

That's how I showed up for the social night and did the thing oh. I think we did well. I hope people were entertained and actually heard my voice because we didn't use the microphone. We gave it our all.

Ah! I must include that my platoon officer now came to the clinic oh. He actually wasn't feeling fine and so I had to give him IM injection. He says we are the cause, lol! For every chook we "chooked" him, I told him it's us paying back. He's a funny man. I hope he gets better and we all have a better relationship with him. (He and I have been cool from the time I collected my kit, he's a good guy).

I hung out with Billy after the event. Actually just went to get food from Mami market. It was already past 9pm.

By 10pm I was back at the clinic. I hear someone upset Mikky. How dare they???? Mikky wey no dey vex! But it wasn't over the top sha.

It ended as a good day. Somebody shout Hallelujah!!!

You can't see abi? It's 5am, why are we out!!!!?

Ok there's some visibility sha

Day 40: all join, na our papa land

Happy new year!!!!! Yessir! I've been on a break with this blog. It's been one big ride with this service thing oh because a lot of us left Ebonyi state for the holidays after showing up at our PPA. Now we are back or in transit back to really serve our Fatherland. Me? So....I redeployed!!! To FCT-Abuja. Yes, I did. Let's not discuss about my reasons but I did. I'll miss my Ebonyi family but honestly, na earth so  we go still dey communicate. I came into Abuja and went to start my post-redeployment procedure. I've made journeys to the secretariat and I'm almost done...or so I think. I have a new state code but I'm yet to get my PPA. You won't believe it!!!! I saw Lambert and I've seen another girl from Ebonyi camp...and she said there's more if us. Lol! But all na service sha. The queue here is mad, yeah, it's dissolved into one whole soup but I'm not about that pushing life. Ah! I've seen another person. loooooo...

Day 21: goodbyes are hard!!!!

Even good things come to an end. Chai! Writing this is painful because today I held back tears. As early as 3am I heard "Corper don blow..." and quite some noise as people were either getting ready or already making their way to drop their mattress...dunno. Billy even sent me a message saying "Corper don blow .. Lol! I went back to sleep abeg. Yesterday I packed my things from F2, my hostel and brought it to the clinic...Mini helped me carry them. Not much though...small box and an empty carrier bag. I got up later to meet people dressed and a long queue of people submitting their mattresses. Guys where are you running to???? I hear some were woken up as early as 2am, y'all extra!!!! After taking my bath and dressing up, TomTom helped me get my mattress from my hostel so I can submit it. That mattress storage room is so stuffy! Well, we finished and I repacked and the clinic was cleaned out. I mean CLEANED OUT. Drug cabinet, beds, examining bench, chairs, ...

Day 3: "eye disloyalty"

I didn't take a bath early enough πŸ™†πŸ½‍♀️πŸ™†πŸ½‍♀️πŸ™†πŸ½‍♀️ ...... People of God how far now? Today started with work oh. I woke up officially at about past 4am, went to get my things for the day from my hostel, freshened up a little and then started attending to people! We had a full house after some time with the camp officials coming to check their blood pressure and see how things are going. Let's back up, shall we? Please why are they "offing" the light??? Just why? Light out is from 10pm and the light literally goes OUT. At about 9:55pm yesterday I was scrambling to get me and my backpack out of my hostel, down to the clinic because that's where I was going to sleep. At about 1:40am some ladies were asking via the window if there was bed space in the clinic, they thought it was a hostel. I can imagine that they arrived at the camp so late and were just looking for a place to pass the night. Well, CMD sha answered them: sorry not here. Back to the day: I...
