Even good things come to an end.
Chai! Writing this is painful because today I held back tears.
As early as 3am I heard "Corper don blow..." and quite some noise as people were either getting ready or already making their way to drop their mattress...dunno. Billy even sent me a message saying "Corper don blow .. Lol! I went back to sleep abeg.
Yesterday I packed my things from F2, my hostel and brought it to the clinic...Mini helped me carry them. Not much though...small box and an empty carrier bag.
I got up later to meet people dressed and a long queue of people submitting their mattresses. Guys where are you running to???? I hear some were woken up as early as 2am, y'all extra!!!!
After taking my bath and dressing up, TomTom helped me get my mattress from my hostel so I can submit it. That mattress storage room is so stuffy!
Well, we finished and I repacked and the clinic was cleaned out. I mean CLEANED OUT. Drug cabinet, beds, examining bench, chairs, tables...all taken to storage. Only the bunk bed frames and the board on the wall that houses the roaster, an eye chart and other papers remained. Nobody should faint today oh because we'll have to use the ambulance as the clinic and we don't have so many things out. Everybody has closed.
Breakfast was served and I had been calling the indomie people because I'm a bit lightheaded but they haven't picked up. TomTom said they're serving akara in the kitchen. I went with him but the girl that sells nylon (so I can put mine in it when I receive it) had ran out of it. Wo! I just bought a drink and gala. Issokay.
The governor's representative is expected to come for the ceremony and after the ceremony we get our PPA (place of primary assignment) letters or we see where we have been redeployed to on the portal. They say it all happens from 12noon.
By about 10 or so, Ore was like they had finished in Maiduguri camp but we were still there.
Well, I don't know what happened because since I'm not equipped to stand under the sun, with no training all these days, I will not use my body to do example today...I dey wait for clinic.
Did I mention that the day started out really cool temperature-wise. So the sun wasn't so hot, bless the Lord for His mercies!
Ah finally, Mikky called the indomie guys and I ordered too. Dear Mini, when you read this I'll like to say that it has been a pleasure for me to almost always buy extra meat because I know you will eat from mine! But you see from tomorrow (and perhaps for a while) I will finish my meat myself!!! 💃💃💃
Ehen yes, Ore at some point before the parade brought good news to TomTom that there was a bus to Kano. Baby boy was so happy, me sef happy join because he wanted to rush off.
We waited ohhhhhhh...nobody showed up and the we saw that they had finished, packed our things and said goodbye while heading towards the parade ground to sort out PPA letters and relocation letters. TomTom and I (and everyone really) have been logging into the portal but nothing yet until: gbam!!! My heart had been "beating" on top this time.
Well, I got my place... we shall gist later. Called those who I had to. I was so emotional. I will miss Mini so much and I just want him to be very happy. You know that Jesus giveth me joy kind of happy...yes. And then my Fubsy-Dupsy (my Mr Macho who makes sure no one does me anyhow). My TomTom!!!!! Shoks my guyest guy!!!!! I love you guys so much. I'll miss you guys soooo much.
Anita, Ore, Yusrah, Felicity, my Mikky Milkose (best friend): I love you guys and I'll miss you all.
Ifeanyi (chief sir🙌🏼), Awaji, my Aniebiet: thank you guys and I'll miss you all so much...much love!!! You guys are family.
Vera, Cynthia, Mercy, Happiness, much love and many thanks for every single thing!
After the young boy that Mini paid to carry my box followed me to the parade ground as Mini located his platoon officer so he could collect his PPA letter. Everywhere had people calling for passengers. Buses to many places especially to the places in town.
When I had done all I had to do I got a call from Dr Chris that he was ready to go. Mini left me to go to Mami market and so I dropped my things in Dr Chris' car and went to look for Mini to say good bye. His stuff was already in the NCCF vehicle so he wasn't going to follow Dr Chris to his PPA place. I hugged him goodbye (is this English correct) and off I was to D'Base hotel to lodge for the night. Billy was with Timi and wanted to wait for her till she leaves so he didn't follow us.
You won't believe that Dr Chris called me after some time that there was an emergency at the camp and the ambulance was going to come and get me... but a few minutes later it was resolved (well relatives would rather take the person home).
Billy and Triumph are opposite my room. These guys went came, went out and then came back. After resting they came to watch El Classico in my room and we all ate. Then we called it a night.
I miss everyone already...I did have a lacrimal session. Mixed feelings but blessed be God!
You have my love Ebonyi,
