Day 20: parte after parte!!!!!

We threw a party!!!!

Kai! If we draw a curve to show how the number of patients have dipped eh, you'll laugh. I mean people still come for common cold issues and also insect bites (well done Mr Skirt and Blouse/ electric insect! 🙄) but we sit and wait and nothing ghen ghen happens. Except bad alcohol behaviour one time and another time (that matter was wayyyyyy milder) and then distressing cough. The sacrifice of Piriton that was the restocking is even finished sef.

What happened today? Here's a random sharing as usual.

Someone had a fever and came straight to the pharmacy/me to ask for anti-malaria drugs. I told him to go through the (very free as no patient was there) proper channel so he can be registered properly and given a paper so I can see him. He was most likely febrile and I knew it. Only for him to complain about that and went out and continued going towards the hostel. I had to go out to beg that he stays for them to check his vitals before I see him. I really can't do it all oh...that will be me saying "kuku finish me". We ended up giving him IM PCM, and the stat dose of the antimalarial so he's to come back to collect the next dose. The pharmacy dispenses per dose or per 2doses or day if they have to... usually per dose to avoid wastage. We didn't see the guy again! Wehdone sir.

I told Billy I'll write it here that he really annoyed me today but of course, I forgive him. Even me sef I later annoyed my best guy Mini. And I'm sure I also annoyed Billy 🤣 . Abegiii besties are besties biko. Vex no dey stay for here.

I'm hearing that my platoon 10 came 1st in drama!!!! We have an amazing theater artist.
Where are my detractors??? Platoon 10 came first oh!!!!!!!

We had our party today. Anita was the main party planner. Mikky was the assistant. Well-done guys!!!! I got the opportunity to anchor the event. We presented gifts and played games. Then danced. We had 2 OBS friends come and a few others. It was so much fun. Thank you so much for an interesting time to all the clinic officials, oga Boniface, Mr Chukwudi, aunty Justina, uncle Chiks. God bless and keep you all. Also to aunty Mercy of life!!!!!! We are never hungry. You took care of your boy Okemini and I'm so grateful on his behalf. Then aunty Ada and aunty Loveth!!! Thank you so much for coming to help out with the nursing duties. You re-lived the "Corper living conditions" again and I say thank you for such a sacrifice. I say a big thank you to Dr Chris also... we've spent just a few days with you and you've been a big brother! Thank you sir.

Day 40: all join, na our papa land

Happy new year!!!!! Yessir! I've been on a break with this blog. It's been one big ride with this service thing oh because a lot of us left Ebonyi state for the holidays after showing up at our PPA. Now we are back or in transit back to really serve our Fatherland. Me? So....I redeployed!!! To FCT-Abuja. Yes, I did. Let's not discuss about my reasons but I did. I'll miss my Ebonyi family but honestly, na earth so  we go still dey communicate. I came into Abuja and went to start my post-redeployment procedure. I've made journeys to the secretariat and I'm almost done...or so I think. I have a new state code but I'm yet to get my PPA. You won't believe it!!!! I saw Lambert and I've seen another girl from Ebonyi camp...and she said there's more if us. Lol! But all na service sha. The queue here is mad, yeah, it's dissolved into one whole soup but I'm not about that pushing life. Ah! I've seen another person. loooooo...

Day 5: officially a Nigerian Youth Corper

Swearing-in day!!!!! Today was pretty straightforward you know, get sworn in and start the Corper life. My day started with me meeting a patient from last night entering the clinic. I was just about to take a bath when he strolled in. Well, I told him to take a bed as all he clearly needed was bed rest to avoid the morning drills. After getting ready for the day the clinic was in full swing with patients left right and center. From those avoiding the days formalities (swearing-in), to genuine complaints. We got ready for the day, all kitted in out official uniforms and with emergency supplies ready...at least, the best we could get available. It's like they rang the bell at some point because back to back we received people and then gbam!!!! Asthmatic attack became the reigning thing. I mean, you know you're asthmatic and you don't bring your inhaler to the parade ground or you don't bring your drugs or take your drugs! Who is playing with you??? Please be guide...

Day 7: Jonah then Joseph

I served punishment oh!!! Today was amazing...well in the end sha. The day started with Felicity and I going for parade. Yes, I went by 5am to the parade ground. I was so clueless!!! 🤣🤦. Apparently our Muslim brothers and sisters go to pray while Christians pray on the parade ground. We had praise and worship songs and then the anthems (Nigeria and NYSC). I didn't even know that the second stanza of our nation's anthem is now referred to as "the national prayer". After that we had a talk by a platoon, I think it was on integrity...abeg don't blame me, it wasn't so interesting but the lady did well. It wasn't a long one. I was really expecting the drills and the singing that comes with it, only for me to hear that we should go. Me that doesn't know how things really go, I was even ready to go back. I hung with my platoon trying to make sure I didn't go astray. Next thing I hear that the ladies in the platoon should wait behind. We waited and ...
