Day 19: cry cry baby

If needle come one way, take leg comot another way!

Today was basic...well until we went to collect allawee. Hallelujah Jesus reigns! But why is it that the allawee isn't put in an envelope with my name on it? But you guys know my name!!!! You know my number!!!!! Why???? Make me happy and give me nicely. Thank you for giving me regardless. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Not many people have been coming to the clinic oh. Even those with drugs are already healed. Drugs like Loratidine and Piriton are like gold! Barely available. Camp is ending they say but we have painkillers and some IV sha.

Some had a broken bottle piece pierce the heel of his foot. After cleaning and all (because it really did bleed a bit...but shouldn't be up to 10ml... maybe 5ml sef), he was to get TT. That was how dude went away. By the time he came back finally he told us he ran away because of the TT. When it was time to give him, you should see how he had to be held down. Almost a battle to get his arm to receive it. Lol!

Ehen! At one time today it was like we had all left clinic. During the time we were collecting allawee. I was vexing for Mini at some point but I really can't remember the reason for such play play. Then Mr Chukwudi came to get Mini, Anita, Ore, TomTom and I so we can get our allawee faster. He ended up leaving us to do it as there was no queue. After finally getting it we went to Mami market to get food and discuss with people as regards our intended party tomorrow. Only for us to come out of Mami and see Mikky, Yusrah, Fubsy...I think even Phillip was outside. Like the whole clinic 🤣🤣 Probably only the nursing staff who aren't corpers are in the clinic. LOL!!! We hurried back sha.

Kai! I remember hearing someone say he was going to spend his whole allawee at many market. Really guys???? Issokay.

There's socials tonight but when Ore came back she said that it was documentary they played...same thing like 6 times!!!!!!! Until someone started singing: 'jeje we dey go' and everyone joined in. Then they finally let them go.

Day 40: all join, na our papa land

Happy new year!!!!! Yessir! I've been on a break with this blog. It's been one big ride with this service thing oh because a lot of us left Ebonyi state for the holidays after showing up at our PPA. Now we are back or in transit back to really serve our Fatherland. Me? So....I redeployed!!! To FCT-Abuja. Yes, I did. Let's not discuss about my reasons but I did. I'll miss my Ebonyi family but honestly, na earth so  we go still dey communicate. I came into Abuja and went to start my post-redeployment procedure. I've made journeys to the secretariat and I'm almost done...or so I think. I have a new state code but I'm yet to get my PPA. You won't believe it!!!! I saw Lambert and I've seen another girl from Ebonyi camp...and she said there's more if us. Lol! But all na service sha. The queue here is mad, yeah, it's dissolved into one whole soup but I'm not about that pushing life. Ah! I've seen another person. loooooo...

Day 5: officially a Nigerian Youth Corper

Swearing-in day!!!!! Today was pretty straightforward you know, get sworn in and start the Corper life. My day started with me meeting a patient from last night entering the clinic. I was just about to take a bath when he strolled in. Well, I told him to take a bed as all he clearly needed was bed rest to avoid the morning drills. After getting ready for the day the clinic was in full swing with patients left right and center. From those avoiding the days formalities (swearing-in), to genuine complaints. We got ready for the day, all kitted in out official uniforms and with emergency supplies ready...at least, the best we could get available. It's like they rang the bell at some point because back to back we received people and then gbam!!!! Asthmatic attack became the reigning thing. I mean, you know you're asthmatic and you don't bring your inhaler to the parade ground or you don't bring your drugs or take your drugs! Who is playing with you??? Please be guide...

Day 7: Jonah then Joseph

I served punishment oh!!! Today was amazing...well in the end sha. The day started with Felicity and I going for parade. Yes, I went by 5am to the parade ground. I was so clueless!!! 🤣🤦. Apparently our Muslim brothers and sisters go to pray while Christians pray on the parade ground. We had praise and worship songs and then the anthems (Nigeria and NYSC). I didn't even know that the second stanza of our nation's anthem is now referred to as "the national prayer". After that we had a talk by a platoon, I think it was on integrity...abeg don't blame me, it wasn't so interesting but the lady did well. It wasn't a long one. I was really expecting the drills and the singing that comes with it, only for me to hear that we should go. Me that doesn't know how things really go, I was even ready to go back. I hung with my platoon trying to make sure I didn't go astray. Next thing I hear that the ladies in the platoon should wait behind. We waited and ...
